THE TRUSTEES AND MEMBERS OF NEW ROAD MADE THE DIFFICULT DECISION TO CLOSE THE CHURCH AFTER SERVING AS A FOCAL POINT AT THE ‘TO-END’ OF RASTRICK FOR OVER 184 YEARS

PHOTO’S FROM THE PAST

New Road Sunday School was founded in the year 1837, the same year that Queen Victoria came to the throne. My maternal family line have been involved since its opening. In recent years, the name changed to the New Road Independent Church and to celebrate the 175th anniversary in 2012, I was asked to pull together a booklet to celebrate the history. The research took around two years and grew into a fully illustrated book consisting of 160 pages. You can read the .pdf version of the book here.
