My name is Andy Eccles and I have lived in the Rastrick area all my life. I have an interest in local history and am a member of the Rastrick Local History Group. We meet at Rastrick Library on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 5.00pm. I am also a member of the Brighouse Historical Society. This group meets on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at the Brighouse Rest Centre at 7.30pm.

My interest in family history began over 20 years ago and whilst engaged in the research, I came across many more interesting events and happenings in Rastrick which I decided to investigate further. As a result, I have therefore compiled some of this research onto this website in order that I may share it with others.

The Rastrick Local History Group members have been encouraged to post some of their own individual research on this website. These documents have been placed under their own separate heading in the main menu at the top of each page.

If you have any questions about topics discussed on here, please refer to the contacts page and I will try to get back to you as soon as possible but please do not ask me to do research on your behalf as I simply haven’t got the time !
